HAWS-KM is pleased to welcome two new associates Lee B. Bennin and Emily R. Weber to our Litigation Team. These newest additions bring strong academic backgrounds with a client-centric approach that will surely be of value to our clients.
Lee Bennin focuses his practice on Product Liability Defense, Transportation Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and Appellate Law. During law school, he worked at HAWS-KM as a law clerk, gaining experience in persuasive brief-writing, civil motion practice, legal research and analysis, and case management. After law school, he worked as a judicial law clerk at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, where he further honed his writing and analysis skills and developed a robust understanding of the appellate process. This solid foundation of legal experience enables him to assist clients through all phases of litigation. Lee received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he earned Dean’s Awards for Civil Pretrial Litigation and Criminal Procedure I. He also served as the articles editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Journal. He participated in an intellectual property moot court competition for two years during law school, advancing to the national round of competition both years and earning the regional best-brief award in 2018. Lee obtained his B.S.in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He is licensed in Minnesota state courts and the U.S. District Court for Minnesota.
Emily Weber focuses her practice on Insurance Related Litigation, Toxic Torts, Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation, Financial Services and Business Litigation, Employment Litigation, and Product Liability. While in law school, she worked at HAWS-KM as a law clerk, honing her skills drafting memorandums, affidavits, motions, and other pleadings. Prior to joining HAWS-KM, Emily worked for Polaris Adventures, helping develop legal strategies for sustainable growth and risk management. She received her J.D., from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Emily was active in numerous leadership roles, including: managing editor of the Adelphia Law Journal, president of Wellness in Practice, and representative for Minnesota State Bar Association - Women in Law School Association. She obtained her B.S. in Business Management from Rasmussen College. Emily is licensed in Wisconsin state court
