Body

As a savvy litigator with 14 years of experience, Briana has earned an excellent reputation for being diligent, responsive, and client focused. There are many reasons that she loves the law, but in particular it’s the art and science of the litigation process. Briana takes a holistic approach with each case to strategically analyze how all of the facts and issues in the process will ultimately tie into her client’s end goal—whether that’s prevailing through settlement or trial.

Briana is at her best when diligently moving cases forward—nothing is going to sit still on her watch. She has extensive experience researching, writing, and arguing the merits of a motion, which often is a pivotal tool for winning a case. In addition, she has a record of success with the Court of Appeals. Both clients and other professionals know that Briana is responsive and will deliver on her word, which allows her to build trusted relationships. Having handled both civil and criminal cases, she is sympathetic to those maneuvering the legal system and understands this is a stressful time. As an authentic advocate, she helps clients understand the process and guides them through it with care.

Prior to joining HAWS-KM, she practiced for 10 years as staff counsel at a major insurance company handling insurance defense claims from inception to trial, including personal injury and wrongful death cases, involving commercial/premises liability, homeowner, and automobile litigation. Briana brings four years of experience as an associate attorney practicing at a plaintiff civil litigation firm, working primarily on asbestos litigation.

Briana received her J.D., from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and earned a B.A., cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas with double majors in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. She was active in numerous organizations and volunteer programs: Mentor Program, MN Justice Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer Lawyer’s Network, Ambassador Program, Entrepreneurial Society, and more.

Outside of work, Briana enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, and being outdoors—including in the cold Minnesota winters.
