Alex Rubenstein is an associate in HKM’s Civil Litigation Group, where he focuses his practice on insurance coverage, transportation litigation, and business litigation. He is experienced in a wide range of other litigation practice areas, including: shareholder disputes, employment discrimination and retaliation, breach of non-compete agreements, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
Alex brings seven years of litigation experience to HKM, having worked first at a regional firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, followed by the Minneapolis office of a national firm. At both firms, Alex
worked on complex business litigation matters in a variety of areas. Before practicing law, Alex worked for a default servicing company collaborating with lenders’ attorneys to resolve consumer bankruptcy matters; then he joined a bankruptcy and foreclosure law firm managing the firm’s paralegals.
Alex earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Rutgers School of Law–Camden (now Rutgers Law School) and his B.A. in Anthropology from Macalester College. While in law school he served as an articles editor
for the Rutgers Law Journal and published a student case comment, and was a legal writing teaching assistant.
When he is away from the office, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, baking sourdough bread, biking, hiking, and traveling.
